Robert Rothschild Farm

A Fruitful History

According to culinary legend, if you dream of raspberries, romance is on its way. Yet when Bob and Sara Rothschild fled city living in the San Francisco Bay area to the 170-acre farm in Urbana, Ohio, they had no idea that raspberries would capture their hearts and their lands. During the 1984 harvest at their pick-your-own raspberry business, a walk through the fields by Bob and Sara prompted the idea of creating raspberry preserves from the excess berries. Growing from an afterthought to an enterprise, the Robert Rothschild line has flourished.

Heritage Raspberries still has a "pick it yourself" facility, but now includes a 52,000 square foot processing and production facility, corporate offices and a retail store and cafe that sells gourmet items year around. A portion of the farm's acreage has also been set aside as woodlands and wetlands preservation areas where wildlife abounds in the friendly sanctuary.

The Robert Rothschild Farm label now graces over 150 gourmet products that include preserves, mustards, dips, salsas, sauces, dressings, oils and sweet toppings. Visit the Robert Rothschild Farm website to see a list of gourmet awards these items have won.
